Fundamentals for the Primal Need

The Domain's fundamentals exist to meet the Domain need, and these are what have to be controlled.

Names, as developed earlier, are:

Domain Parameters

The Domain parameters were developed in the course of analyzing and appreciating the Root Projections to Principal Typologies.

As explained in this Section's introduction, we now include an additional concept: the Control Field. This Tree framework, was developed to be analogous to the Primal Field. It provides the determinants of a Principal Controller that govern the Primal Means so as to increase the likelihood that the Primal Need will be met in a social setting. The Control Field is drenched with the Domain's Psychosocial Pressure.

So these are the parameters for the Inquiry Domain (RL2):

*Note:Closed  "Certainty" as an objective effect is not the same as the instinctual pressure for "certainty". However, if there is intense pressure for certainty, then the desired effect could be greater certainty. In many cases, however, submitting to the pressure for certainty is counter-productive.

The Domain, especially its Control Complex, has been studied systematically. Initial formulations in the early 1980's are now known to have had errors. An attempt to correct and develop the full range of frameworks was commenced as part of this Naming Project, and the results to date are available above. Formulations related to these frameworks are now posted in Frameworks in Development.

The PH'2 Optimizers were originally named "Testing Methods" and "Inquiring Systems" because these terms were popular in the systems science literature. Both seem unsatisfactory: "Testing" is too specific, being associated with one of the Methods (Hypothesis-testing: PH'1L3); and "Inquiring" is too general, being the name of the Domain.

Surprise Finding of Name Similarity:Closed It seems that Consensus-Conviction is both the Executing Duality for Research-PH'2 and the Approach Duality for Using Language-PH'5. If correct, this may point to a deeper understanding of the way that communication defines reality—even under scientific conditions.
